Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 19, 2026

Multi Sub Player, published by Wonastral Mapp, respects your privacy. The App does not collect, store, or share your personal information with the developer, and contains no developer analytics or tracking. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob (see the Advertising section below); the ad-removal (Pro) upgrade disables all ads.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

All of your data — app settings, bookmarks, saved words, edited or generated subtitles, downloaded models, and any API keys you enter — is stored only on your device. It is never sent to the developer. API keys are stored encrypted at rest using the Android Keystore.

2. Permissions the App Requests

  • Storage / media access — to find and play your video and audio files and to detect matching subtitle files.
  • Microphone — used only for the Speaking practice in Study mode (speech recognition). Audio is not recorded to disk or sent to the developer.
  • Notifications & foreground service — for background playback and media controls.
  • Internet — used only for the optional online features described below.

3. Optional Online Features (Only When You Use Them)

  • Subtitle generation and high-quality translation (Groq) — when you use these features, the relevant audio excerpt or subtitle text is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to the Groq API, using the API key you provide. This data is handled under Groq's privacy policy: groq.com/privacy-policy. The developer never receives, stores, or has access to this data or your API key. If you do not use these features, nothing is sent.
  • Speaking practice — uses your device's built-in speech recognition, which may be processed by your device's speech provider (for example, Google), under that provider's privacy policy.
  • Model downloads — on-device translation (ML Kit) and speech-recognition (Whisper) models are downloaded from their providers the first time you use them. Only model files are downloaded; no personal data is sent.
  • External lookups — when you run a dictionary, translate, or AI search action on subtitle text, the selected text is passed via your browser to the service you chose (for example Google Translate or ChatGPT) and handled under that service's privacy policy. Text selection briefly uses the system clipboard, which other apps could read on Android 9 or earlier.

4. AnkiDroid Export

If you export to AnkiDroid, the selected subtitle text and media clip are saved into the AnkiDroid app on your device, with your permission. Nothing is sent to the developer.

5. Data Sharing

The developer does not sell your data and runs no developer analytics or tracking. Data is shared with third parties in only two cases: (1) the optional, user-initiated Groq features described in section 3; and (2) in the free version, Google AdMob, which receives your advertising ID, approximate location, and related data to serve and measure ads (see the Advertising section below). Purchasing the Pro upgrade disables all ads and this ad-related sharing.

6. Children

This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Advertising and Consent (Free Version)

The free version of this app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse (approximate) location to serve and measure ads, as described in the Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google consent form (User Messaging Platform) is shown before personalized ads are served, and you can change your choices at any time in Settings → Privacy options inside the app. Purchasing the ad-removal (Pro) upgrade disables all ads; purchases are processed by Google Play and the developer never receives your payment details.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the app evolves. The latest version is always available at this page and inside the app (Settings → About → Privacy policy).
